KenKone Medical Technology and Taichung Veterans General Hospital announced the formal signing of a Letter of Intent to jointly explore the limitless possibilities of AI smart endoscopy. This Letter of Intent was signed by Dr. Shian Chen, Superintendent of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and Dr. Wei-Hsuan Liao, CEO of KenKone Medical Technology. The cooperation will integrate KenKone Medical’s hardware and software infrastructure with that of Intel and Zhongmei Wantai, deploying it at Taichung Veterans General Hospital. In the future, it will conduct federated learning across multiple countries and hospital campuses, rapidly advancing AI applications in the medical field while ensuring patient privacy.
KenKone Medical Technology, leading with advanced technologies such as voice recognition and image recognition, is committed to innovative applications in the medical field. Its flagship product, EVAS, has been successfully integrated into the Taichung Veterans General Hospital system for final testing, providing advanced voice input functions for endoscopists. Through EVAS, endoscopists no longer need to spend extra effort memorizing surgical details or tedious post-surgery recalling and typing, significantly enhancing the completeness and timeliness of medical reports. This move further highlights Taichung Veterans General Hospital’s leading position in smart healthcare and its high regard for AI applications.
Dr. Si-Jia Liao, Director of the Endoscopy Center at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, stated that due to the high number of patients, it is often challenging to schedule examinations in a timely manner, sometimes requiring patients to wait several weeks for an examination. She expects that EVAS will save valuable time spent on medical record input, allowing for more timely care of more patients.
Dr. Wei-Hsuan Liao, CEO of KenKone Medical Technology, explained that this cooperation not only covers voice input functions but also extends to endoscopic image data labeling, AI diagnostic model training, and clinical data BI systems, among other aspects of deep integration. The collaboration aims to realize the prototype of future smart endoscopy, including an AI diagnostic and AI voice input doctor copilot system, which will significantly enhance the clinical work efficiency of medical personnel.
This collaboration is not only a perfect combination of medicine and technology but also an important milestone in the era of digital healthcare. Together, they are pioneering a new chapter in medical technology, providing patients with a smarter and more efficient medical experience. The active participation of Taichung Veterans General Hospital and KenKone Medical in smart healthcare reaffirms their outstanding achievements in AI applications, laying a solid foundation for Taiwan’s medical industry as it moves towards a digital future.
